Do miracles still happen?

Dear Friend,
I have to admit, I've never seen water turned to wine. Nor a man risen from the dead. The Red sea parted? well...maybe a time or two ;)
The scriptures say God "is the same yesterday, today, and forever." (1 Nephi 10:18) If this is true, then miracles must still exist."But why don't I see them?" You might ask...

my answer? You just might not be looking hard enough.

God is just as present and engaged in our day as He was in Moses', Noah's, Peter's, and Paul's. He has not forgotten us and His miracles have refused to cease.
The problem is, sometimes miracles are overlooked as "everyday norms". If you're reading this blog on a computer, laptop, iPhone, iPad, tablet, etc. you are experiencing a miracle. Some people say "no, that's just science." I think Bill Nye would agree with me when I say science is a miracle!

Maybe science isn't your thing though, I can't say mitosis really interests me either, but hopefully faith and conversion are. Who doesn't love the story of Saul's dramatic transformation to Paul or Jonah's stubbornness being swallowed up by the whale? Conversion itself is a miracle! I have watched people close to me experience conversion, I have felt it in my own life, its a hard thing to explain but its also hard to forget--and impossible to deny.

Bruce R. McConkie, a mormon, said: "According to the eternal laws which Jesus himself ordained in eternity, miracles are the fruit of faith. Where there is faith, there will be signs, miracles and gifts of the Spirit. Where there is no faith, these things cannot occur."

My sweet friend, Sister Jenessa Hutchins, noted a need for miracles to be shared and started posting miracles of friends, family, and acquaintances on her blog whenyoubelieveingod. Their miracles will promote your faith and help to reassure you that miracles do indeed still exist. Where there is faith there will always be miracles.

So fight the good fight, finish your course and keep the faith---then watch the miracles and mercies of God unfold before you.

Who knows...maybe your very own sea will be parted <3

With much love,
Miss Mormon
